You open Messenger and you’re invited to try Muse.
First reaction:
“OK… but what can I actually do with this?”
Muse is an AI agent from Meta, the company behind Facebook, Instagram and Messenger.
And the word agent matters.
With a tool like ChatGPT, we often think:
“What can I ask it?”
With Muse, try thinking instead:
“What could I give it to do?”
Here are a few examples.
Find me the best option
“I want to buy an automatic coffee machine. Find me three good options available in Canada under $700, compare them and explain the differences.”
Muse can search the web and compare options.
Plan this for me
“I’m going to New York from November 12 to 15. Find me well-located hotels and suggest an itinerary.”
Instead of only answering a question, an agent can take several steps to get you a result.
Organize my week
If you decide to give it access to your calendar:
“Look at my week and find me two one-hour slots to work out.”
That’s where Muse gets much more interesting: it can work with some of your tools when you give it permission.
Help me with my email
If you connect your email:
“Look at my important emails since yesterday and tell me which ones need a reply.”
Then:
“Draft a reply for this one.”
Do the research for me
“Find three places where I could do this activity next Saturday and compare the prices.”
Or:
“Find the form I need and help me fill it out.”
Muse can use the web and complete several steps for you.

An agent can keep context and support you on a task that doesn’t necessarily end in a single conversation.
