My little team of AI agents is starting to look like a company! 🤖

Cover: my little team of AI agents

A few months ago, I started building my digital memory to keep track of my projects, ideas and decisions.

Then I started creating specialized AI agents.

Today, I have 16 of them!

Each one has its own name, role and responsibilities. Well, almost all of them… 😄

And most importantly, they can work together using a shared memory.

🎼 Boss, my conductor

Picture a small company where every employee has their own specialty.

That’s more or less what I’ve built.

Boss receives my requests and hands them to the right agents.

Around him, I have, among others:

  • 🧠 Brainy: my digital memory.
  • 📋 Tasky: my tasks in Trello.
  • 📁 Projy: my projects and ideas.
  • 🚀 Prody: how my products are progressing.
  • ✉️ Messy: my email and calendar.
  • 📞 Cally: phone calls.
  • 🎨 Arty: images and videos.
  • 💻 Cody: development and publishing.
  • ☁️ Cloudy: my cloud infrastructure.
  • 💰 Cashy: my finances.
  • 🩺 Nursy: my health tracking.
  • 🏃 Sporty: my sports activities.
  • 🐶 Doggy: my puppy Taz.
  • 🔧 Handy: maintenance and repairs.
  • 🧑‍🎓 Facy (Meta’s Muse): currently an intern on my team! He has access to my digital memory, but no assigned tasks for now. He’s getting to know the company! 😄

Of course, they’re not real employees!

They’re AI agents I’ve given instructions, responsibilities and tools suited to their work.

And even my AI agents have to prove themselves before landing a permanent position! 😂

🤝 Agents that collaborate

Let’s take a concrete example: luc.cloud, the site you’re reading this article on.

I can ask Boss:

“Prepare an article about my latest project.”

He can then coordinate several agents:

  • Brainy finds the relevant information.
  • Arty prepares an illustration.
  • Cody takes care of publishing.
  • Projy keeps track of the project.

I no longer need to explain to each one what the others are doing.

Boss coordinates the work.

🏠 What about my personal life?

My agents aren’t only for my tech projects.

For example, with my puppy Taz, Doggy can keep track of his vaccines, his food and his vet appointments.

He can then work with Tasky to organize the follow-ups.

Same idea for my sports activities, my finances or my car maintenance.

Each agent knows its field and can find the information it needs.

🧠 The real secret: a shared memory

This is probably the most important piece.

My agents don’t each work in their own corner.

They can consult my digital memory, which contains:

  • my projects;
  • my decisions;
  • my notes;
  • my contacts;
  • my important information.

And that memory belongs to me.

I can switch tools or AI providers without having to start over.

That’s exactly what I’m experimenting with Facy, my intern from Muse: giving him access to the same memory as my other agents, even though he comes from a different provider.

⏰ Groups and routines

I can also bring several agents together in one conversation so they collaborate on a project.

And some tasks can run automatically thanks to routines.

For example, preparing a summary every morning of my appointments, my tasks and the projects that need my attention.

🔐 But who stays in control?

Me. Always.

My agents can search, analyze, prepare and propose.

But some actions, like sending an email on my behalf, require my approval.

And since they can access personal information, their permissions must be carefully managed.

Giving an AI autonomy doesn’t mean giving it every power.

🍳 The simple version

At first, I just wanted an AI that could find my notes.

Today, I have:

  • a shared digital memory;
  • 15 specialized agents, including an intern;
  • a conductor;
  • work groups;
  • automatic routines.

Of course, not everything is perfect yet. I keep experimenting, fixing and improving how they work.

But I went from:

“ChatGPT, can you answer my question?”

to:

“Boss, here’s what I want to accomplish. Organize the work with your team.”

I’m not trying to replace humans.

Mostly, I’m trying to free myself from small tasks, better organize my ideas and spend more time on what really interests me.

And I find that genuinely fascinating! 🤖
