A shared digital memory (not just the chat thread)

Chat forgets and mixes things up. Shared digital memory keeps durable facts; the bot’s memory is only a cache.
An AI chat has excellent memory… of the current thread.
As soon as you change topic, agent, or day, important details can get lost or contradict each other.
Two layers in my setup
- Digital memory — durable notes and facts I choose to keep (projects, rules, useful history). That’s the source of truth.
- Bot memory (Grok Bot) — a cache and pointers to move faster day to day. Not the official file.
Agents are supposed to check digital memory before relying only on what they “remember” inside the product.
Why it matters
Without it, each agent invents a slightly different version of my world.
With shared memory, Boss, Doggy, Cashy, or Cody can align on the same facts — without me repeating them in every conversation.
What I keep simple
I don’t put secrets in the notes. And for a given project, I can even ask agents not to touch that memory for a while.
In short
The chat thread is the conversation. Digital memory is the notebook the whole team can consult. They don’t play the same role.
